Get to Know Me

Hi, I'm Ben - founder of Tierra Trekking Co.

I started Tierra Trekking Co. after years of long-distance walking — not just on the Camino, but in some of the most spectacular and demanding landscapes in the world. I’ve hiked across the Andes, the Pyrenees, the Rockies, the Caucasus in Georgia, and remote trails in the Middle East. These walks weren’t bucket-list ticks or fitness challenges — they were slow journeys that gave me time to think, connect, and explore places on foot, at human pace.

Over time, the Camino became a place I kept returning to. I’ve walked several routes — the Francés, Portugués, del Norte, and Finisterre — and spent extended periods in Spain and Portugal along the way. During that time, I got to know the towns, the people running the accommodation, and how things work on the ground. That experience gave me a clear understanding of the Camino — not just the paths, but the day-to-day reality of walking them.

Tierra Trekking Co. is built on that experience. I know what it’s like to arrive tired after a long day, to crave a comfortable bed, or to need help when plans shift. When you book with me, you're dealing with someone who’s tested every detail — someone who’s been through the blisters, the missteps, the unexpected magic.  I walk the routes, build real partnerships, and handle each trip as if I were planning it for a friend.

This isn’t just a business. It’s a way of bringing together years of walking, learning, and connecting — to create something that feels personal, reliable, and deeply grounded. If you’re thinking about walking the Camino, I’d love to help you do it well.

Get to Know Nicoletta

I’m Nicoletta — originally from Germany, now happily settled in Portugal. My love for pilgrimages was sparked on the Camino de Santiago, where I’ve walked more than 3,500 km.

Since 2019, I’ve been supporting pilgrims when:

  • you find yourself sitting in a doorway, exhausted and overwhelmed, having pushed beyond your limits and still without a bed.

  • your plans have fallen apart, and you need to take a shortcut but aren’t sure how or where to start.

  • you're feeling lonely or shaken by unexpected emotions and need someone to talk to.

  • everything has gone wrong, and you need help getting home without a passport or any cash.

I’m also trained in supporting those dealing with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Whether it’s a logistical hiccup or an emotional crisis, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

What I love most about this work is witnessing people flourish. Sometimes I’m there in person as they push past their limits. Other times, it's a message from the trail — aWhatsApp message detailing a fantastic evening with fellow pilgrims in Oia or recounting how they dared to do something unexpected.

However your journey unfolds, I’m here to support you.
